As part of the ongoing efforts to establish and share learning resources among education and research institutions in Tanzania, TERNET continues to build capacity for its member institutions’ technical staff through hands-on training and workshops. From 28th March to 01st April 2022 we conducted a five-day training workshop at St. Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT) in Mwanza based on Virtualization and Cloud Computing workshop. The training was facilitated by trainers from TERNET and UbuntuNet.
The workshop provided technical expertise on successfully installation, configuration, and management of virtual servers in an organization. Participants learned different types of virtualization platforms, technologies used and their advantages. At the end of training they were be able to maximize utilization of server resources through virtualization technology and accommodate different system applications in one physical server hence saving organization cost.
The trainees benefited with the Hands-on experience from the virtualization Lab prepared by virtualization expert trainers. Forty-five engineers and technical staff from member institutions across the country attended.
